HIGHS
The iPhone XS Max has a big, brilliant display and a little more battery life than the XS. It benefits from the improvements that the XS also has: faster speeds, some durability and water resistance improvements, better camera and dual-SIM support.
LOWS
It’s so, so, so expensive. If the iPhone Plus models were too big for your hands, this one will be, too.
The whopping iPhone XS Max shares the same design as its smaller sibling, but opts for a 6.5-inch OLED display. This pricier model also gets a resolution upgrade, running at an improved 1,242 x 2,688 pixels. Under the hood, it’s powered by Apple’s A12 Bionic chip, which aims to keep the experience of running multiple apps at once completely lag-free. For the most part, the cameras sat on the back of the iPhone XS Max are the same as those on the iPhone X (and identical to those on the new iPhone XS). But on this larger model, editing your photos and taking in the vibrant colours on screen should be even easier. You have three storage options to choose from, starting at £1,099 for the 64GB model and rising to an eye-watering £1,449 for the 512GB alternative.
Starting at £1,099 / $1,099 the iPhone XS Max is the most expensive and largest iPhone ever. Its 6.3in tall display is one of the only main differences between it and the regular XS – that and the larger battery.
Otherwise this is the same phone as the XS. You might want the Max if you want a large screen for photo and video viewing or if you simply want the biggest iPhone money can buy.
