Samsung Galaxy S10 series is getting a Night Mode for its camera

The Samsung Galaxy S10 latest update brings a dedicated Night mode to the camera app. It was rumored before that the company would be bringing a dedicated Night mode to its latest flagships with a software update in late April or early May, and that’s exactly what has happened. This update also includes the April 2019 security patch and is available in Switzerland at the moment.

Unlike the Google Pixel family’s “Night Sight” and the Huawei P30 series’ Night mode, Bright Night relies on when the Galaxy S10 deems it necessary to shoot in long exposure, which only occurs during extremely low light conditions.

Fortunately, Samsung has finally introduced a dedicated camera night mode for its latest flagship devices, and it’s now available to everyone, giving them full control over when to use the feature. That means they won’t have to depend anymore on the camera’s scene optimizer for the night mode to work.

The new update is yet to arrive in any country other than Switzerland, but the rollout should expand in the coming days. You can also keep checking if it’s available by tapping Download and install in the Settings » Software update menu from time to time.
