Nintendo shoots down rumors of a new Switch at E3

Nintendo has denied reports that it is planning to release a new Switch console at the annual exhibition of the computer games industry, Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which is scheduled for June 11.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa told reporters in Osaka that as a general rule of thumb, they’re always working on new hardware and will announce it when they are able to. “But we have no plans to announce that at this year’s E3 in June,” he added.

Recently, information that Nintendo plans to release two new Switch consoles this year has repeatedly appeared in the media. One of them, as expected, will be an affordable version. Just yesterday, Bloomberg announced that the company may release an inexpensive model in June this year. But as we see today, this information has been refuted by Nintendo representatives.

Although the release did not have to take place at the E3 event, in any case, until the information is confirmed by official representatives of the Japanese company, the news will continue to be just rumors.
