The OnePlus 7 Pro is the nicest phone released by the company – with a higher price that reflects so much. But some early buyers report having noticed phantom screens, with apps responding as if something was bugged on the screen, even when the phone is idle.
OnePlus is aware of the problem, according to Android police and says it treats it as a high priority once it has successfully reproduced the problem. If you have just purchased this phone, you no doubt hope that the phantom taps are something that can be eliminated by a software update and are not an indication of a deeper hardware dilemma. The OnePlus 7 Pro has a first-of-its-kind OLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz.
Some users on the OnePlus forums, say it’s easiest to observe the problem with the CPU-Z app. But others have encountered it in Messages and other apps where phantom taps would be very annoying.
This does not seem to be a universal problem that affects all OnePlus 7 Pro phones, but we monitor the situation and provide updates that OnePlus offers regarding a solution.
