Twitter could be planning on adding a search tab for you to search for particular conversation in your DMs. The feature which was spotted by reverse engineering expert and developer Jane Manchun Wong, the functionality certainly isn’t perfect just yet. But from what we can guage, you will be able to search using profile names and also likely by using an individual’s Twitter handle.

Twitter has good reason to turn its attention to DMs after spending so much time on public-facing features. Remember, Mark Zuckerberg outlined plans for a privacy-focused Facebook with more emphasis on chats and other “simple, intimate” spaces. If Twitter wants to lure people away from those spaces, it has to make DMs more compelling than they are today.
Currently, the feature is in the test phase and details about the official roll-out of the option remains unknown as of now.
Lately, Twitter has been tweaking quite a lot of its features. Earlier last month, the micro-blogging site redesigned the desktop interface of its platform. The company is also testing an option to let users subscribe to a tweet discussion in order to get notified of any replies.
