Apple confirms April 20th launch event, new iPads and Macs expected

Apple has started sending out media invites for yet another virtual event that is likely to see the new iPad Pro launch. The Cupertino-based giant has sent out invites for an April 20 Spring Loaded event which is set to see new iPads.

The press invite sent out by Apple reads, “Spring Loaded”, with Apple logo scribbling done in the background. The invite reads, “Please join us for a special Apple Event from Apple Park. Watch it online at apple.com.”

The launch event will kick off at 10:30 pm IST on April 20 and will be live-streamed. The company has confirmed that the launch event live streaming will be available on apple.com. Though, similar to older Apple events, we can expect live streaming available on YouTube as well.

Notably, this will be Apple’s first virtual launch event of 2021, and as expected, the company is most likely to refresh the iPad line-up. At the moment, we are not sure how many new iPad models could be unveiled at the event, but iPad Pro is likely getting a refresh.

The Apple Spring Loaded event confirmation comes amid rising chip shortage issues that have been reported widely, and a recent report even claimed that it might have hit Apple’s plan for a Spring launch. But, here we are.

Much like Apple always does, April 20 is a Tuesday which typically is the company’s favourite day to showcase new products, be it new iPhones or iPads or MacBooks.

Based on the leaks so far, the new iPad Pro could sport the company’s new A14X chipset, which is said to be on par with its M1 silicon. Some reports have claimed that the new iPad could sport a Thunderbolt 3 port that would eventually replace the USB-Type-C slot.

Thankfully, we won’t have much longer to wait before Apple shows its hand in full — consider that a reminder to stay tuned for our live event coverage.
