Why a passphrase can beat a "random-looking" password: River-Coffee-Lantern-27 is built from unrelated words chosen completely at random — an attacker has to search the same enormous space as a random password, but it's genuinely easier for a human to remember and type correctly. A short random-character password crammed with symbols is not automatically stronger than a long passphrase; length and true randomness matter more than complexity rules.
