PlayStation 4 update delivers 16-player parties and Android Remote Play for all

Sony has rolled out its latest Playstation 4 update, system update 7.0 will be released globally this week.

The new firmware update will offer updated party features, including 16-player parties, chat transcription and improved audio quality. In addition, the improved back-end also improves network connectivity which should resolve most of the connectivity issues when connecting with other players. The update will also pack system level HDR tuning.

PlayStation 4 system update 7.0 also packs new ways to remotely play on mobile devices and the update allows players to use Remote Play on smartphones and tablets running on Android 5.0 and up. “Meanwhile, for iPhone or iPad users, the Remote Play App has been updated so you can now display the controller at all times and lock the screen orientation”.

Furthermore, players can now use Dualshock 4 wireless controllers over Bluetooth on Android, iOS and Mac via new updates in Android 10, iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina coming later this month, Sony noted. The update is arriving around the world this week, so you should see it on your console soon.
