Apple fixed the bug that prevented some iOS apps from opening

Apple resolved a bug that prevented iOS from opening certain apps on iPhones and iPads. According to the 9to5Mac website, the programs (even free) were behaving as if they were paid downloads. In a statement, Apple said the problem has now been resolved.

The bug was first identified in Apple Family Sharing. This program allows the user and up to 5 other family members to have access to purchases from the App Store, Apple Music subscription and iCloud storage. However, users reported that they were taken to the app’s purchase page shortly after receiving the error message “This app is no longer shared with you”.

9to5Mac learned, the bug usually led to people getting an error indicating that an app was “no longer being shared with you.” Deleting and reinstalling affected apps would solve the problem. Apple is effectively fixing the glitch by delivering properly signed versions without making users re-download apps themselves. It’s an unusual problem, to put it mildly, but it’s also good to know that a fix was available without having to wait for an OS update.
