Alienware introduces its first gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate

Alienware is unveiling a handful of new gaming gear and updates. Most exciting is the new Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor, which comes with a 360Hz refresh rate for super-fast gaming. It also supports NVIDIA’s Reflex Latency Analyzer to give users more data on their system latency and performance.

Most displays have had refresh rates that cap out between 120Hz and 240Hz. But with the Alienware 25, ASUS’ Swift 360 and Acer’s Predator X25, that seems to be changing. All of these new gaming monitors offer NVIDIA-powered 360Hz refresh rates.

The 37.5-inch monitor has NVIDIA G-Sync Ultimate certification and VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 specifications. The Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor has an edge-to-edge design with NVIDIA G-Sync Ultimate and VESA DisplayHDR 600 certifications. It’s pretty zippy, too, with a 240Hz refresh rate.

The new Alienware monitor features both AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-Sync technology, making it a match for Navi cards like the AMD RX 5700 XT, Turing heavyweights like the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti, and the upcoming Ampere cards.

The monitor features a fast 1ms response rate, minimizing latency. While its native refresh rate is 240 Hz, Alienware says the monitor can be overclocked to 360 Hz. This implies that select units might even go further, with some luck. Because the monitor uses an IPS panel, it’s able to deliver 99 percent sRGB coverage as well as wide viewing angles, both weak points for many of the high refresh rate TN panel sets on the market right now.

Alienware says it will share more details on all of this new gear later this month.
